Young actors with autism pay tribute to gas-tragedy victims
Bhopal: A poignat play ‘Buddha Aur Aslan' unfolded at the Income-Tax complex, Arera Hills on Wednesday- as a tribute to victims of Bhopal gas tragedy and a dedication to International day of persons with disabilities. What made the event profoundly moving was its inclusive spirit - actors with autism sharing the stage with neurotypical performers, weaving together diverse lives through art, empathy and shared emotions. The narrative follows Aslan, a destitute whose only food is stolen — a loss that pushes him on a symbolic voyage to meet Buddha. Along the way, he traverses great mountains, rivers, meets a magical helper, a turtle-queen yearning for transformation — each character echoing human longings and fate's whims. When he finally stands before Buddha, the answers he receives are simple yet seismic: True transformation demands shedding shells — literal or metaphorical — and performing acts of kindness.
